Hi, all. Here are two quandaries I am hoping some of you can help me with.
As of two days ago, my Outlook Express stopped working. When I launch it, it reads for about 20 seconds, then completely locks up. It makes JAWS very, very sluggish, almost impossible to use. When I close it out, I get the message of, "This program is not responding..." and have to end it manually. Then the box pops up wanting me to send an error report to Microsoft. So, OE is now unusable for me.
I ran my anti-virus software, which is Eset Smart Security, and I also ran Malware Bites. Both of those came up totally clean.
this morning I tried to install Windows Live Mail instead. It downloads it, but when I try to install the set-up, it gives me another message. I could copy that in here, if it is needed. But basically it tells me that it's not a valid Windows32 application. WTF?
I have had one other person tell me she was having this problem with OE, too, with no seeming trigger. She has not been able to fix it either, though she has not tried to install Windows Live Mail as I have.
Do any of you have other ideas for accessible email clients I could use? Thanks in advance for any help.
I can suggest you to backup your outlook with e-backup and that's if you're using windows xp. and then you better go for a system restore.
Raaj.
I believe I'd put the arror message in to the search box at Microsoft.com or bing and see what you come back with. Or just fraze the question Windows live mail won't install. See what you come up with. If all is working properly other then email you could have something your virus isn't picking up. This issue will take some trouble shooting to fix I'd think.
hmm..! I have seen this arror before, your Identies folder is corrupted is in need of beeing removed. Now that I said that if your not sure of yourself in the windows registory then ya back your system up then go to microsoft to seek a sellution or redo your system. With that said, if you want to try this suggestion go for it, "you have to open your restery, navigate to the Idinties folder then delete the intry. close the editer and restart. Then open outlook express it will create a new Idities folder. I had this problem happen on my old gateway laptop running windows xp PRO.
